This is from his last visit with me and he looked so sweet there on my floor eating Goldfish. He really had his mind on them because I could leave the room and he didn’t care! Normally he wants to be wherever I am so he really was preoccupied with his Goldfish. But you got to admit he sure is adorable sitting there… but then again all my grandchildren are adorable!

I got 4 free tickets to a KC and St. Louis baseball game on Saturday! Boy were they great seat and we got to park right next to the stadium! We were told it was the best parking they had so I guess I should take these free tickets anytime I can get them. We lost but Bill (Kit’s father-in-law) and I still had a good time. We couldn’t find anyone else who wanted to go so we had two unused tickets. I guess that could be because the Royals are so bad but hey we still had fun. Here are a few pictures of the Royals stadium, it is a beautiful place (built off my tax dollars). Oh, don’t get me started about that sort of thing! Anyway just thought all you that live outside the KC area might enjoy a few pictures of the place.

Klay and I had dinner at Chuck and Mary’s house the other night which gave Klay a chance to play with Aaron. Here are some pictures from their evening together.

Fathers day 2010

Thought I would just put a note in here to say that I had a good Fathers day. Went to church with my kids, well at least the ones that live here in good old Missouri. I had dinner out with Kit and Jess for Fathers day. Had a great time and good food plus I got a PRESENT (from all the kids)! A 1 cup coffee maker – been wanting one of those. Sorry no pictures as I forgot to take my camera with me. Talked with Brance this morning and we wished each other happy fathers day. He gave me a tidbit of information about Fathers Day. In case you all did not know it Mothers Day became a official holiday in 1914. Now can you guess when Fathers Day became an official American holiday – Nope! Neither couldn’t I but it was 1972, the year I became a father. Kinda late for us guys don’t you think. I think we need to celebrate Fathers Day twice a year until we catchup with the gals day! Just a thought – you women can think about that one for a while :-)

Happy Fathers day everyone!

Little Miss Cool

I just had to show this picture as she just had to have her sun glasses to play at the playground.

Pictures of Klay

Here are a few pictures of my grandson, Klay. He is such a happy guy! He is only a year old and ready to start running, if he had his way but his little body has not caught up with his mind yet :-)

Haddie And PaPa-G

Like I said in the previous post I wanted to put a few pictures up so here are some of Haddie and I from my last visit to Virginia, to “see my son and daughter-in-law” of course.

What a fun Easter

I know it’s been forever since that last time I updated this site. I am a lazy cuss! Anyway I thought the kids were doing a good job of keeping everyone updated to what was going on and the girls were doing a great job of getting pictures of my grandkids on their sites so I saw no need for me to do it. Well I decided I wanted to put a few pictures up myself. So I started going through the pictures I have taken in the last year and post a few.

I did notice something though, I seem to have all kinds of pictures of my grandchildren but not much of my kids! Am I bad or what?

Anyway here are a few pictures you may not of seen – ENJOY!

Some Bad News

I hate to write about bad news but I knew you all would want to know. Two family member this year have found out that they have cancer! Boy this hits home for me!  As most of you know I lost my wife, Cathey, to cancer.
First my cousin Marsha found out about a month ago that she has several tumors.  So she has been undergoing chemo treatment for those.  I Just got a email update from her sister Pam that their are no new tumors showing up but no real reduction in the number of tumors she currently has. The large one in her lung is smaller, THAT’S GOOD NEWS!  Marsha will be going back into the hospital on August 27th for more chemo treatments. Please pray for Marsha and family and of course our hope is that they can stop any growth of the tumors and maybe even see some of these tumors go away.

I also got an email today from Mary Kitley, my sister-in-law, telling us about Kristin, her daughter. Kristin had a mole removed from her leg a couple of years ago but it came back this year.  She went in and had it removed but the biopsy report was not so good. She has melanoma cancer! The good new is that it wasn’t to big or deep (0.2 mm in depth).  I guess they refer to that as stage 1A from what Mary had in her email. So the next step is to have a plastic surgeon go in and remove more of the tissue surrounding the area to make sure they got all the cancer cells.  She is scheduled to have this done this coming Friday. Please pray for her as well.  If everything goes well she will not need any further treatment.

I copied part of Mary’s email as I think we all should take note and take care of things early when possible.

“This has been a good affirmation of the “ABC’s” of skin cancer (you can Google “melanoma” if you don’t know what they are) — her mole looked like a brown freckle, but it was asymmetrical — just a little larger than a pencil eraser. Not ugly or scary looking at all. She has never been to a tanning bed or cared about tanning, but she inherited my side of the family’s fair skin. Just a reminder to us all of the dangers of the sun!!! Put hats on those babies!!!’

My Puppy

Well after telling you all about my new puppy my Daughter-in-Law, Jessica, sent me some pictures of him to put on my blog.  So thanks to her we have pictures to show you all.  These pictures are a few months old but you can get the idea how big he is going to be.  I think he is about 3 months old in these pictures.  You all need to pray for Jessica and Kit as they are puppy sitting while I am in Virginia for a month. :-)
